Purpose

Bachelor's thesis project

The project focuses on creating a digital tool that can generate realtime, audio-synchronized visuals in response to a musical source. The purpose of the research and prototyping, developed through various digital tools and design thinking techniques, is to lay the foundations for the creation of a VST plugin.

Visual Jam Lab provides a comprehensive range of dynamic visuals, including geometric shapes, abstract patterns, seamless transitions, and interactive systems that evolve and adapt in response to music and performer actions.

The extensive customization options of the presets, called algorithms, enable the adjustment of various parameters that independently affect the display characteristics of each individual element in the system.

The project aims to provide DJs, performers, and artists with an intuitive, cutting-edge, and captivating tool that enables them to expand the creative and communicative possibilities of their works.
By combining sounds and images in an highly customizable generative system, Visual Jam Lab empowers every user to transform their performances into versatile showcases, explore new visual representations of their compositions, or simply immerse themselves in pure experimentation.
